Jumbo frame MTU size in Duo v1?
Hi,
I'm trying to maximize the network speeds between 3 devices (PC, Duo_v1, Qnap NAS) connected to a Netgear GS108_v3 by matching the MTU size in their ethernet interface settings.
The MTU s...

I'm getting transfer rate of 94.5 MB/s for large video files (.m2ts) on a 1 GB/s link.
This is from the PC to the Qnap.
That's pretty good! Can I expect to do any better?

Changing MTU to 9000 upped the transfer speed to 115.5 MBps

This is from the PC to the Qnap. You certainly won't get that from the Duo.
The benefit of jumbo frames is that the clients (PC and QNAP in this case) are processing fewer packets per second - which reduces their CPU load. There are some other ways this can be accomplished in new NIC cards.
So sometimes Jumbo frames give you a performance benefit, sometimes they don't help much, and in some cases performance actually drops. Gigabit ethernet carries approximately 110 MB/sec, so if you are getting anything over 100 MB/sec you are basically maxing it out.
