Lexmark X464 to ReadyNAS FTP Server
Our new MFP (Lexmark X464) has a scan to FTP function.
I want the printer/scanner to scan and save the documents to a folder on the ReadyNAS.
I'm totally new to FTP anything.
So I've enabled the FTP protocol on the ReadyNAS as:
Port: 21
Authentication mode: Anonymous
Allow upload resumes: Enabled
Passive ports: 5000-5020
Masquerade as: RNAS
When my printer asks for the ftp address, "FTP://_________" I tried filling in the blank with the IP address of the ReadyNAS, the text shown in the "Masquerade as", but neither will work.
Also, I do not want the FTP to be accessible from outside the local network, so I did not open the Port 21 on the router.
Both the printer and the ReadyNAS is plugged on the same local network router/switch.
How can I make this work?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you only want FTP access on your LAN then "masquerade as" should be the name of the NAS.
The FTP address for the printer needs to include the name of a share: FTP://RNAS/SHARE
SHARE also needs to be enabled for FTP access, and set up for so the printer has permission to write to the share. If you use static IP addresses or DHCP reservations, then you could add the printer IP address to the "write enabled hosts" list. Or just make the default share access read/write.
