Logitech Media Server - Unable to delete the app

Hi there,

my setup comes from an older NAS Ultra2 with the logitech media server already installed.

So i moved everything successful to the 314 and still - everything is fine.

Just the logitech media server 1.0.6 from Poussin is not reachable anymore (right from the admin-page)

The system itself works fine. Each Client works and can access the music.

Now, i saw that there is a new version from "NAStools".

i wanted to try the new one - but i just can't delete the old one...

The 1.0.6 just won't deinstall.

I read in this forum that is it possible via SSH?

So i have a SSH Access - but i am really not into the stuff and have no clue with which commands i need to the rid of the old version.

Anyone with an idea or help with those SSH commands?

  • Problem Fixed.

    installed this morning 6.5.0

Then i thought why not give it another try... and ...:

Voila: i could delete the app without any problems.

    Nice version - the 6.5  :-)

    Thanks for that!

    Hi ThiloS,

Which Firmware are you on? Have you tried with other web browser/s?

    Kind regards,

      Firmware is 6.4.2

I am working with Chrome (right now 50.x)

But that doesn't seem the probleme. FIrefox and Edge doing just the same.

No matter which browser - It just says "Application is removed. This may take some time. Please be patient..." (in german - no clue what's the correct sentence in english : -)

There are two packages logitechmediaserver and lms. You'd need to remove them using apt-get. You could use a one line command to remove both at once.

Ok - so i was very brave and typed in the following...:

      root@NAS:~# sudo apt-get remove logitechmediaserver
      Reading package lists... Done
      Building dependency tree
      Reading state information... Done
Package 'logitechmediaserver' is not installed, so not removed
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 48 not upgraded.

So either i am typing something wrong - or the RN doesn't find the App this way neither.

      root@NAS:~# sudo apt-get remove lms
      Reading package lists... Done
      Building dependency tree
      Reading state information... Done
Package 'lms' is not installed, so not removed
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 48 not upgraded.

      The same here...
