Lost connection to ReadyNAS Duo but RAIDar can see it
I have a ReadyNAS Duo for the last three years running fine on my home network. New desk top PC's sit on the network and both have been using, accessing and sharing files on the Duo all that time unti...

This is really odd guys.. I too starting having this problem recently ... I'm guessing this is in relation to some recent Windows "security" update.
I'm running Windows XP SP3 on Wireless, connected to a basic workgroup domain. Our ReadyNAS Duo doesn't have any special permissions setup at all, we just have 2 shares on the device: backup & media which are accessible to all computers within the workgroup.
I've setup the router with assigned DHCP addresses giving the ReadyNAS a static local IP: 192.168.1.111
On my Windows XP machine if I click on "View workgroup computers" I show all other computers appearing with the exception of the ReadyNAS.
I can ping the ReadyNAS with no issues, however if I try accessing the ReadyNAS directly via Run typing in: "\\192.168.1.1" I get the generic device not accessible, you may not have permissions error.
What's really interesting is this doesn't seem to be an isolated case on just my computer either... Other computers will at some point lose connection to the ReadyNAS when they're actively backing up files.. If I power down the ReadyNAS and boot it back up, all the computers within the workgroup can see the device again...
I'm not sure what the issue is, but it's causing a major headache for me as I had all the computers within our office running automated backups to the device with no issues up until now.
If anybody can shed some light on what the heck is going on I'd be grateful.
Thanks,
