My, my. This saga reads like a perfect case study on how to lose a loyal customer following.
Glad to know sombody has a work-around for those who don't have a recent backup like I did. Unfortunately, way too deep into the Linux level for many who purchased a ReadyNAS for it's "plug and play" capability.
Sad to know that Netgear doesn't care enough to let the user base know that there is such a serious bug in the OS.
Sadder to know that the answer to my question about doing something different to prevent the problem is "Don't do it at all".
