Hi all,
I'm closing this topic because I have made a big mistake in the past!
OS4 change to OS6, but this works till the last update stable, smoothly as fast, till I got the problem: mb_cache_shrink_scan+50 during my last backup to external USB disks and restarting the NAS creates the lost Volume...!!!!!!!
Netgear follow their procedure and can't help me.
My NAS is end of live as well.
I have not the right skills to bring back my "Volume" in Debian!.................the story is ended...............goodby...........................
Remember:
BACKUP is not a backup when the original isn't working either!

Hi all,
I'm really disapointed from Netgear that they let me down (the customer). Also I want to pay for it..... it's not working. I begged Netgear to help me, but no luck!
I'm not talking about what I have done wrong. In the past I have changed OS4 to OS6, but with OS6 I was really really happy for real long periode.
With OS 6 the system runs smoothly, stabel and was more faster than before!
Till the day of last OS 6.7.4 update and trying to made a new fresh backup on a fresh formatted external USB HDD (back-bottom)!
I formatted the external USB HDD (EXT4) on the NAS system and that was the worst case.............. so if you want or plan to do this too? I suggest DON'T do this...!
It made your NAS unusable (losing your Volume) .................! You are been warned now.
Remote access isn't possible too - network refused!
You can't enable ssh because there is no Volume...........!
When booting option: Remote Support -> I tried too - network refused!
At this moment I'm really bussy and study really hard to archieve this hole NAS OS system to get my original data off.
That is good for my knowledge in the future as well. I have more idea and soon I will get all of my data from my ReadyNAS...!
At this moment I have seen my data and it is still on the (4) HDD's form the NAS system, I will take the data soon away (untill this time) I will DO nothing with the 4 NAS disks. This is for 100% a typical software issue........................ because none of the hardware is broken!
But the real answere I will never find or get ..........
Anyway I will fix it by myself good for my knowledge as experience in Debian ...................
Also it will coast me hours, days or even month! I will fix it without further help or suggestions from Netgear.
The world is changed and if you pay you can get, sorry but this isn't true peoples.
We live in a hard world of procedure, procedure and again procedure we need to follow this! We can't help you anymore............
Customer we don't care................! Remember we are all human and all we make mistakes....right?
Suggest:
Backup your NAS and after the backup check your backup too...!
.... till now I would say bye to all reading users
Remember be happy and always smile :smileyhappy:.........................
