Right. And the need for transcoding depends on the connection speed and the codecs advertised by the browser.
When I choose my RN102 server from https://plex.tv/ SD-resolution MP4s with H.264 video and AAC stereo audio play for me - in both FireFox and Chrome (running on on Windows).
