Media Server Content List

Hi All
Looking for Guidance.
I have a Panasonic Viera TV which incorporates a Media Server. Basically, I have set it up to read the NAS files in certain folders and it can access them and play them back. All OK.
I copied about 10 videos to the open folder while the wife was away so I could watch on the TV. I have now removed them from that folder but when I access the folder on the TV it still lists ALL the files. If I click on any, then it suitably fails, but the titles are a giveaway.

The problem is that I can't find anywhere that this list is stored on the TV or the NAS. On the TV, I cannot edit what I see. I will be asking this question of the TV forum too, but can any of you help me to find that content list or update it - will it be on the NAS, if so I do I refresh it or edit it?

  • the tv should support DLNA as a client and the nas is the DLNA server...... it should stream it over the network without having to copy anything.

login to front view and have it rescan the media files...
  • I guess the easiest solution would be to change the folder names in the TV's config becuase this should force a rescan/rebuild of the media database on the TV's side (if there's really a media server at work there).

yea if the tv has a media server and the nas has a media server, there might be a conflict.....

It does stream over the Network. The files were held on my PC and I copied to a folder that I want the TV to see (I don't want the TV to have access to everything. That part was fine. It was when I removed the files from the folder that I thought would be OK, but the TV still lists them.
I was in Front View and the only file showing was the one left in the folder. My problem is trying to find where the list is held as that needs refreshing.
Thanks for the response, it would be great if you have any more ideas.

I agree that this might be thet best thing to try but I can see where. I can't remember if I set thet TV up to see the NAS or it just sees it because it is on thet Ntework. If the former then I may be able to clear and rebuild. If the latter then i am still stuck with where the content list is held.
    Thanks for your ideas
  • Hi All

Problem solved. It was the NAS side. Although it had been set to update the media list automatically, it didn't. I did a new media scan (I hadn't found the option before I wrote the question), and this sorted it out. I'm safe from the missus now - at least for this!
