Migrating disk set from a failed Raidar 4.2.28 on RNDU6320 to new RN31600
I am wondering whether what I am watching is trending toward success or failure? My old ReadyNAS Ultra 6 running Raidiator 4.2.28 and a six-drive doubly-redundant (RAID level X2) volume last shut...
The data has been copied off, ,a factory reset (wipes all data, settings, everything) has been done and the data restored from backup.
No, the volume set was not 100% full when the failed station was last working; but the six disk volume set shows up as you see it in the replacement chassis (now showing a RED status bar, and 100% full ).
The new RN31600 chassis display remains at "Booting..." now for more than 12 hours, although the device shows in RAIDar and the management page can be reached by web browser as you see it.
I thought the Netgear document "ReadyNAS: Migrating disks from RAIDiator 4.2 to ReadyNAS OS 6(x86)" said that the volume would come on-line as "READ-ONLY" so that the original content could be copied off the disk set.
That reminds me, I recall that the "Boot Menu" may have a "Read-Only" choice. Is that the way I should be attempting to boot this new RN31600 to be able to copy off the data from the six-drive set that I am bringing in from the failed chassis RNDU6320?

The situation appears to have been solved through a combination of the user (myself) following the recommended solution path, experiencing a problem, asking for help, and the generous assistance of user "mdgm". I received assistance indicating that the SMB server had been started on my new server and this was true: NMAP showed the ports open, I made the connection and was able to recover ALL my old data from the Raidar 4.2.28 volume set to an available storage location. Thereafter I factory initialized my old disk stack in the new RN31600 chassis, changed to RAID-6, and put the data back.
Wife is elated ( she has her data back ), I learned something, and I will speak highly of Netgear's total customer support package at every opportunity.
