Moving files between shares
I'm moving files around on my ready nas, having setup backup jobs to copy all my data from an external USB drive to my shares. Problem is, it's shockingly slow, taking hours to move folders of a few...
I solved my issue:
I changed the Security Mode from Share to User in Frontview-Security-Security Mode and rebooted the NAS, but I was still unable to access \\ip.address.of.nas\c via Windows Explorer (Vista Home Premium SP2), getting the message: 'Windows cannot access \\ip.address.of.nas\c - Check the spelling of the name...' blah, blah, blah
But... I did a net use x: \\ip.address.of.nas\c /user:admin with the admin password and, in conjuction with the Security Mode change, I was finally able to Map the Drive.
I'd also downloaded the wrong version of EnableRootSSH as my NV+ is sparc not x86. I've now downloaded EnableRootSSH_1.0.bin (http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/4.00/EnableRootSSH_1.0.bin) in case I need to install it in the future.
