Multiple logins with same username working?
It used to be that you couldn't access a network share a second time, if you were logged in once already somewhere else. Now it appears you can.
Did something change?
is there a way to only allow one login at a time per account?
Thanks,
John

- chirpaLuminaryVIa what client OS and what protocol? WIndows 98 through Vista had that problem for sure. I haven't tried if Windows 7/8 can work around it.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserTo be clear - the issue is accessing shares on the same NAS from a single PC using different logins. There is no problem accessing shares on the same NAS from different PCs, and no issue accessing different NAS from the same PC.
This problem still exists with Win7, I don't know about Win8.
There is a simple workaround if you want 2 logins - you can use the NAS hostname for one, and the NAS IP address for the other. - chirpaLuminaryExtending on Stephen's workaround, to have even more via hosts file: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18253
- john_esAspirantIs there any way to only allow a user to be logged in to the same NAS/share from one machine? In effect, preventing them from using the same username/password on multiple machines?
- chirpaLuminaryNo.
