multiple raids

hi there. is it possible to run multiple raids on a ReadyNAS NV + . I have disks in 1.2.3 in a raid now. i want to have a disc in slot 4 there should not be a part of the existing raid.

the fact is that I have regular hard drives in slot 1.2.3. they do not run so often. but I have a disk sitting in a server for 24/7 recording of ip cameras, this disc is better for constant work . i would like to use Netgears app for ip cameras so I can remove the server

i have a readynas nv+ with 3 2tb disks

The good news is that you can.

The bad news is that you will need to do a factory reset (which wipes your data and configuration), and choose "flexraid" during the initial install.

So you will need to make a full backup, and restore the data after you rebuild the NAS.  I recommend starting with three disks installed, and selecting Flexraid/raid-5.  Then hot-insert the fourth disk and configure it as RAID-0 (which is jbod, since there is only one disk).  The second volume will be "D".

Thanks for the quick reply. there are no problems in the factory reset. my nas runs backup every night to a nas at my brothers. but now I have come to doubt my nas can run ReadyNAS survailence . it is the first ReadyNAS NV + which run raidiator 4.1

        Hi daniel-t-f,

Unfortunately, ReadyNAS Surveillance is only available to x86 Legacy and OS 6 models.  You may want to consider getting a new ReadyNAS unit that supports the said service or feature.

        ReadyNAS Surveillance Data Sheet

        Kind regards,
