My Netgear box has power problem, couldn't power ON. Model is ReadyNAS 428 RN42800-100AJS.

My NAS box suffered severe problem, and can't power ON. Model is ReadyNAS 428 RN42800-100AJS.

It is 8 HDD model, and 6 HDD is active (two empty slot).

1.I replaced fault HDD with new HDD successfully. The HDD is 10GB. and NAS fan sound increased a little, and air outflow increased a little.

2.After few hours, the NAS system stopped suddenly.

3.Never Power on since that.

What should I do?  I have no idea, help me.

Try removing all the disks, and labeling the by slot.  Then power on, and see if the NAS lights up and gives you a no-disks status.

If it doesn't then check your warranty status. If you are the original purchaser (getting it new from an authorized reseller), then the NAS should still be covered by the hardware warranty - which is 5 years, and the RN428 was launched 4 years ago.

If you are covered, you can request an RMA (a replacement NAS) via support.netgear.com.  If you never registered the NAS there, then do that first.  Also, upload a scan of the receipt, so there is a proof of purchase on file there.
