I think this review of the WN2000RPT might help you better understand how range extenders work. Basically, by adding an extender to your wifi network you cut in 1/2 the potential throughput. Plus the WN2000RPT has 10/100 ports.

As mdgm said, its highly advisable you consider running some Cat5e or newer cables to a GigE switch. If you really are hell bent on using Wifi to connect the Duo to your LAN, consider getting a pair of these and running in 5Ghz bridge mode. http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless ... r-reviewed
