I've tried the AC technology (with Netgear's R6300). In my home the 802.11ac connection didn't propagate very far, so I ended up running 802.11n bridging in most tests. Performance was still very good, but it is not wired gigabit.
If you want the best performance, connect the Duo to a wired gigabit network. When doing large transfers, connect your PC with ethernet to the same gigabit network.
