NAS very slow at opening photos
Hi,
I've started a spring clean with my NAS and i'm sorting the backup photos from my mobile, however when reviewing the images it's very slow and painfull. One image could take 60 to 90 second...
Considering what you have said then i see no real point in going for the Orbi as it will not outperform my current setup enough to warrent the purchase. I attempted to use a powerline in the garage but the distance is too great, signal strength is near on non existant. I looked at the external Orbi but was put off by some reviews and it's cost.
I teather through my phone in the garage and that works fine for me, but i do burn through my data pretty quickly!!

Also, are your Solwise devices powerline networking gadgets, or are they something else? Generally speaking, you'll get the fastest speeds with wired gigabit ethernet.

I opened the NAS tester but don't know what to enter into the network path field. I copied the network address but this didn't work.
The file path copied was \\nasname?

Ok, powerline. Gigabit ethernet would be faster if it is practical to run a cable. NasTester should give us some idea on how much faster.

You need \\nasname\sharename or \\nas-ip-address\sharename (using the real hostname, IP address, sharenames of course). Note the direction of the slashes, which is important.
