Need help selecting backup/RN features #24580559
Ok, I am having some difficulty translating RN features into function ;) I have ReadyNAS 316 16TB RAID6 in XRAID2 mode. I have created some shares and mapped a windows 7 drive to backup a bunch ...

Thanks again. If you can help with my follow up questions, I'd sure appreciate it!

-You can back up windows on the NAS using its default backup job function:

I was thinking more of a drop a file into the directory, it gets updated immediately (mirrored directory). Sure, I could run a backup schedule using the mapped drive, but look for live, on demand mirroring. Would like to do this with a few different users using Home shares by user. I thought I read this capability in the RN pitch, but having trouble finding correct combination?
2. Any type of backup solution for Android devices (photos, files, notes, etc)
-ReadyCloud app for android should be able to do this, also check readydrop.
ReadyDrop- as far as I can see, this only works with online DropBox Cloud services? If this worked in a self-hosted, independent solution, this would be GREAT! When I followed the links for readydrop, every one showed logging into your DropBox account. Is there a way to do it only on the RN without online DropBox? Can I host my own DropBox-esq service?

Yep, got it, like it ;) iStat is one of the first things I enabled, though I can only use it internally at the moment. Can't tell if it is a factor of my wireless bridging or my cell service. Verizon hates me. Half the time their data network doesn't work at all here on the fringe of 4G. 3G switches to 4G, not stable, back to 3G, falls back to 1X, up to 3G...LOL. HTC One M8.
3. Cloud storage and availability from laptop/Android/Linux variants/adhoc (from any machine by supplying proper login)
-There is a ReadyCloud Client app for windows
Yep, this is one of the links that simply takes you to NG's REadyCloud page with "Discover". Nothing to download? I've been thrown onto this page a dozen times, very frustrating.
