Need help selecting backup/RN features #24580559
Ok, I am having some difficulty translating RN features into function ;) I have ReadyNAS 316 16TB RAID6 in XRAID2 mode. I have created some shares and mapped a windows 7 drive to backup a bunch ...

In addition to this, you might also want to check Egnyte Storage Sync for readynas.

2. ReadyDrop works like dropbox but does not use dropbox.

3. Yes, you will have to enable readycloud first to download. You will have to create an account to get the apps/client software.
Or dowdload them here:

This is quite helpful, thanks!
I didn't realize ReadyDrop was separate from DropBox, that is good news.
I looked at Egnyte, but they want a monthly fee for me to host my own data. That's not for me.
Ahhh! No downloads until you create users and setup ReadyCloud. I specifically skipped that step so not to open access without a full configuration. I figured the ReadyCloud was to access through NG's Frontview/Web-enabled software.
The last download is an "app" that simply opens the web-based ReadyCloud when you run it. It feels like it used to be a standalone app, but now only redirects to the readycloud.netgear.com site. If it is checking for a RC account first before installing, it sure would be nice to get a message or something instead of looping back to that page.
One more thing. I do have my admin setup with ReadyCloud, can access shares and manage from the readycloud.netgear.com site. That isn't enough to download the client?
Perhaps I am not recognizing the client software? To me anything that simply logs into an online website isn't an app, I am expecting more. Any way you can post or point to a screenshot of the Windows Client installed and running? It has to be different than what is shown at the NG address, right?
Thank you very much for your patience and help!
