I did that, no luck. So I decided to open it and check for any signs of burn damage as I cam home the other day and the master fuse on the apartment was blown. I took out the network and USB card and put it back in. Success! The LED for traffic was on and it's working like a charm now. Thanks for your help!

Yet another option is to remove the disk altogether, and see if RAIDar sees the NAS.
The warranty is 3 years for the original purchaser, you can check warranty coverage (and arrange for an RMA if you are covered) at my.netgear.com.
