Hi jamiepugh,
Are you sure that the logs pertains to the new drive you have newly purchased? Perhaps, it could be another drive inside the NAS that is failing. You may want to double-check the logs again.
To further isolate the problem, I suggest you to run a disk test on the new Seagate 1TB ST31000528AS drive using the Seagate SeaTools for Windows. You will need to connect the disk directly to the PC after installing the Sea Tools then make sure to run the Long Generic Test. You may download the Seagate SeaTools for Windows here. I only have one drive in the NAS - the new one.
I will remove the drive and test with seatools as recommended.
