New install RN428 with eight 8TB drives can it set up as X-RAID in Raid 5?
About to set up a new RN428 and was going to install 8 HGST 8TB NAS drives but it looks like it will set-up as X-Raid Type Raid 6 which has a lot less storage than Raid 5.
Is that what will happen?
If so should I set it up and then change from X-Raid to Flex-Raid to get Raid 5 and then back to X-Raid?
Or set up with six disks and then add the additional disks one by one (have feeling that will change it to Raid 6 in X-Raid).
All my other units are running 6.9.3 and the other largest unit is a RN316 running six 8TB HGST NAS drives and it is in Raid 5 X-Raid format. It was set up with 4 drives and then expanded with the additional drives one by one.
