New ReadyNAS with OS6 and Legacy NVX

Hi,

I have been operating an NVX for a while, and it continues to serve me well. I now want to add off-site backups/replication of the NAS. I am consdering to get either a new 104 or 314 as my primary NAS and use the NVX for backups. Since the NVX isn't running OS6, this won't be as simple as it could be. However, with Readynas Replicate it should still work.

Will this configuration work if I am using the built-in encryption feature of OS6? Will data also be encrypted on the backup-system, or will it only be encrypted on the primary system and backups are readable? Do you have recommendations how to encrypt the off-site NAS? Using e.g. TrueCrypt could work for data that is only accessed with a PC, but I'd also like to encrypt Photos, Music, Videos, ... that are accessed via DLNA. TrueCrypt won't work for those files. What are your thoughts? Or should I be thinking in a completely different direction?

Thanks!
