It would also be helpful to know if your router is providing the WiFi, or if you have a separate WiFi access point.
fastfwd's advice is also on target. Some WiFi APs/Routers have a feature blocks WiFi devices from access your local LAN. This is convenient for folks who want to provide a WiFi hot-spot for guests. Maybe provide more information on what model WiFi router/AP you are using, and the wifi settings.
