I've had the same issue for a log time.
I've opened a bug but did not get any real help

What I plan to do is to leave the automatic update on, but add an extra cront job so that every 2 days
it does a full rescan.
There is a thread where someone posted the command to do that.
Still, it would be good to have some input from the Ready NAS developers.
