The FTP backup is forced to full in the x86 line, I suspect that was also done in the v1 line. The reason is that the incremental backup wasn't really incremental - it failed if a file became longer.
There is a patch available for the x86 that restores the pseudo-incremental behavior, but AFAIK it is not available on the v1.
