NV+ v2: Mixing and matching drive types
I currently have 3x3 TB WD Green drives in my ReadyNAS NV+ v2. I originally went for the Green because the lower price and the low-power design appealed to me, even though they weren't on the supported list. So far I haven't had any problems, aside from one drive that arrived DOA, but two of the drives are showing a ton of load cycles, and one is in fact approaching what is apparently its rated limit. For that reason, when I go to fill the fourth bay, I'd like to use WD Red instead. However, I understand that it's not a good idea to mix multiple drive types in a RAID. Does this mean that I'd have to replace them all at once?

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt's ok to mix and match drives types in RAID. I have a mix of red WD Red and Green in my Pro 6. Over time I will migrate to Red only, but I see no problems now.
- AliencollectiveAspirantThat's encouraging; thanks!
