Performance halved at a stroke (ReadyNAS Duo, 4.1.8) ...

Hi,
I have a DUO (v1) with the netgear provided disk (1 disk).
I have (probably) the same issues regarding writing to the nas.
1 song (7,5Mb) takes 10 minutes to write to the nas.
So...
Without doing any complaints, i did some forum reading and found out, either downgrade to 4.1.7 (as the nas actually contained this version when unwraped christmas day) or try the 4.1.9-T9.
Neither of them will load (i get an error during upload and verifying) via local update!
I read something regarding factory reset, so i tried this aswell!
So... What todo?
I have realized, i want be able to stream my music during new years eve, but do i have a faulty nas, or am i doing something wrong?
PS! It is actually working on 4.1.8, but i will newer be able to transfer my music collection to the drive with the current write speed!
AND... (This might be something to put in a new thread) During multiple file writing (copy a folder/album of songs) it stops transfering and result in an error message (dont remember what, but it was something regarding "couldnt connect to media...???)...
