Permissions inheritance for new folders and files

Hi,

I from few days have similar problem like this
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=40641&p=225998&hilit=inherit#p225998

in short:
- ReadyNAS 2100 connected with AD 2 years work (FW: RAIDiator-x86 4.2.22)
- Share permissions set in the past time
- now (~10 days) users have problem with newly created subfolders and files
- i recognized, that new subfolders have unset "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent..." option.
- new object (folder or file) has set of "Permisions entries" not inherited and generaly set "This object only" "Read".
- if i chedck this option - it resolve problem.

Last time i turned in "ReadyNAS/FronView/Shares/CIFS/Network Trash" to ON. It's possible that this is source of problem?
If not, where to search?

  • Info for everyone who has same problem:
    - new subfolders (and files) have unset "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent..." option
The source of problem is "Network Trash" option in CIFS
This causes serious problems with access to newly created objects !
Turning off "Network Trash" resolve this. But not immediately. In my opinion device restart is needed. I work remotely, and not sure.
For me it's serious BUG ! (RAIDiator 4.2.22)
With "Network Trash" turned to OFF, newly created objects have "Allow inheritable permissions..." selected. Now permissions work like I expect.
