Thanks, that was the solution... I had been using the network found connection, and that continued to fail. Also, another problem is that the printer name was some funky name (As opposed to a simple dj_4260 or something like that). When I used a simple smb connection, and added a username and password (in the case, admin, although I would rather add users to cupsd.conf and be able to specify use), I finally received my first test print. Thanks you for your pointers!
