If you specify afp:// in finder does that work?

No, in fact I discovered it connected via SMB.
I have kept only afp on as a service and didn't manage to connect, also via finder.

I don't own a Mac, but my understanding is that Time Machine needs AFP to be on. If the OSX system can't reach the NAS via AFP, I think you need to fix that first.
It might also help to turn on UPNP in the ReadyNAS.

Yes, I guess there is something wrong with AFP. The strange thing is that before it worked fine.
And I know that Apple is leaving AFP, which is ok, as long as it moves TimeMachine also on SMB...
I will try with a Lacie Nas. If it works, then it's not 100% Apple faults.
