With FileZilla it is better to disable masquerading. Instead set "use the server's external IP address instead" under settings->connection->FTP->Passive Mode (in the FileZilla client).

With the masquerading setting change, you should be able to connect with filezilla from your local LAN to the internal IP address of the NAS. So try that, and tell us if it works (or copy/paste the FileZilla command window so we can see how it failed).
