I have a similar issue, which I'm going to use msomekh's solution to see if it fixes it. My issue seems to be caused by the PlayTV software. A little backstory:
We leave our PS3 switched on but either logged out (due to PlayTV not being able to turn the PS3 on to begin a recording) or in Remote Play (I have a PSP) - now the media server is generally available whenever I go to access it. After running PlayTV and exiting however, the NAS does NOT show up in any of the Photo/Music/Video menus of the XMB on the PS3 running a "Search for Media Servers" (several times) also does NOT have it appear.
The only way I have found for the PS3 to find the NAS again is for me to log in to Frontview and disable then enable the ReadyDLNA service: and this works EVERY time.
Note: I have not tried the 15 minute announce yet - I'll try to remember to check my PS3 for the NAS in 15 minutes...)
NAS details below in my signature
PS3 (slim) firmware v3.60, PlayTV v2.03 (not PS+ unlocked: the features it gives you are useless in Australia, and hence not worth paying for)
