Raid Scrubbing

Wondering what it exactly does?
Or why I should have it enabled...?

Any technical explanation would be appreciated... 8)

    As the manual says:

"Disk Scrubbing with Auto Parity Fix. Select this option to detect and correct potential data corruption by actively searching disks for unreadable and mismatched blocks. This procedure should be scheduled for off-peak usage periods."

It reads all the blocks in the raid array (including the redundancy blocks), and makes sure they are readable, and that the parity (redundancy) blocks are consistent with the data blocks.
