Raidar 6.0 Windows

I downloaded Raidar 6.0 on my Windows 7 SP1 64 bit system with ReadyNAS 102.

Raidar 4.3.8 is running fine, but when clicking on the 6.0 download, presumably to have it installed,

I get error message : "The JVM could not be started. The maximum heap size (-XMX) might be too large".

What about that? Should I install Java (currently not on my machine) first? Or?

    Thanks, that explains.

For now I'll stick to RAIDar 4.3.8, as I seldom use it, and will install Java perhaps later on.

RAIDar 6.0 does require a newer version of Java than RAIDar 4.3.8 does. Yes, you need to install JVM.

So far, my machine (and all the software on it) runs fine without JAVA.

      Also, Raidar 4.3.8......

As I would like to stay away from Java (and hence JVM) for the time being, I decided not to install Raidar 6.0.

RAIDar 4.3.8 does require Java too. You can see the installers for some old versions of RAIDar are much bigger than the size of the RAIDar 6.0 installer. This is because we used to include the java files in the RAIDar installer.
