Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Correct wording is Your NETGEAR Storage is not accessible from this computer, please check your network setting. Interestingly I was able to access it from this mac yesterday and increase my time...

Hi all. Not replacing drives. Mac computers only. Re set and re booted NAS then reset Google as their double secure system didnt help. All working now with new updates.
Thanks for all your help.

Hello,
I have the same probelm with access but after a different action.
I have a ReadyNAS 102 with the four HDD installed in the wrong order. I have order of 4TB, 4TB, 6TB, 6TB. And after discussions on another thread wished to back them up and move the HDD around to 6Tb, 6TB, 4TB, 4TB. There is 3.75TB of data on them in X-Raid set up/
I plugged in a 5TB External HDD to the front and rear USB Port in turn and when i triedto open it up on NetRaidar & via 10.0.1.xxx received the same message. I tried to reboot with the USB connected to the Front then the rear and again with the External HDD disconnected and still cant access the NAS !
Cannot access via Finder or windows explorer now either - so i am effectivly locked out of my data.
any ideas ?
Regards
Howie

I think you mean RN104. Just to make sure there is no confusion here - simply reordering the drives will not help you. You need to recreate the volume (or do a factory install) with all disks in place. All data on the drives would be lost - so you need to back it up.

What firmware are you running?

to StephenB:
Yes ReadyNAS 104 - and Firmware V 6.4
And yes I'm aware that just reodering the Disks isnt the way to go. Thats why I have bought a 5TB USB drive to back all the data onto.
Also to confirm - if i plug in a USB Drive to either front or Rear USB Ports the ReadyNAS freeses most of the time. If you look at the log entries i have tried to cut & paste there is a gap of three hours from 16:13 to 19:51 where i just left it to see if it would sort itself out. only way to get a responce was to cut the power and reboot it afterwards.
The drive is a seagate ST5000DM000-1FK178 which is sometimes seen and i have triedto Format - thinking the NAS would format it the way it liked.

Hi again,
progresss report.
So I pluged the External drive into a windows computer and formatted it to a single partition of 5TB.
Shut down normally the ReadyNAS and plugged the USB HDD into a rear Port as the manual states they are USB3 and the front is USB2.
Booted up the ReadyNAS again and it sees the USB Disk and for what it is also. so thats good.
Presently performing a back up of all data to it.
One strange thing is when browsing under Media are there folders - USB_HDD_1, USB_HDD_2, USB_HDD_3 when there is only one physically there !
Also there are no size details of these folders so i had to guess that 3 is the one to back up to.
regards
Howie
