You can request info on per-incident support. If data recovery is needed, that would be separate (and more expensive) contract.

Is there no forums where people can give me advice on restoring it myself then or is this just a forum for Netgear Support?

We use standard Linux RAID (mdadm), LVM and EXT4 on the NV+ v2.
There are plenty of communities that provide advice on trying to fix problems encountered using those.
This is an advanced problem and doing the wrong thing may jeopardise your chances of data recovery being successful.
But then if the data is important you should maintain a regularly updated backup that you can restore from if needed. So if you don't have a backup then the data probably isn't important so you may see trying to recover it yourself as an acceptable risk.
The community isn't here to solve all the data recovery problems that may be encountered in rare cases. Though we may be able to provide some pointers in the right direction depending on what the problem is. The community's here to help with less complex issues.There are mainly fellow users on the community with some NETGEAR personnel such as myself.
