Can't see ReadyNAS files

Hi

Hope someone can assist

Recently I had lost the ability to see my readynas on my network (I think this was after the recent 1803 update on Win 10)

I have managed to enable visibility of other devices on the network but still can't see the files on my readynas

I can access the readynas frontview through the browser and all seem OK

Has anyone hade the same experience

  • Hi

Yes, had already turned it on but no luck

I was able to make it visible though by adding the mother folders to the shared list and assigning read write access under CIFS

Had to map the IP address as it still dropped in and out (have to manually refresh to see)

But now visible under "this PC>backup(\\NAS_DRIVE) ("Mapped drive letter")" and also in network computers after the manual refresh

Not sure if this method is correct but somehow working

    Thanks

What firmware is your NAS running?

Have you tried entering \\nas-ip-address into the file explorer address bar?

      Hi

      Firmware is RAIDiator 4.1.16 [1.00a043]

I have tried using IP address but no luck

      Just get empty folder

      Thanks

Go "turn windows features on or off" in the PC, and see if the SMB 1.0/CIFs client is enabled/installed.  If it's not, you need to install it.

There are security implications, but your legacy NAS doesn't support the SMB 3.0 client.

I have had a similar issue after that update accessing files using the NAS name, but all works well when accessing by IP address.  So do try using the IP address to see if you can gain access.  I posted about it and received nothing that fixed the issue.  The problem started first on one computer, then on another after another, smaller update.

While I suspect the primary issue is with Windows, I do hope somebody comes up with a solution.
