Thanks for that - the SMBD change probably explains "improvement" in the consistency of the error messages I'm seeing within Windows.
I agree the wording could be clearer if that's the intent of the note and the reference to "SMB client" makes more sense in that context. I wonder if anyone knows whether there is a version of SAMBA capable of resolving this and is so which version it is? I know the NV+ is an older device, but I wonder if the same problem exists on newer models (especially the latest OS6 devices)? I should imagine that if the latest devices experience the same issue, there isn't a version of SAMBA available which fixes it....
