A file transfer gets around 25mb/sec
25 MB/s is about right for a duo v1.
What happens if you shift the PC from the 100 mbit connection to the switch?

Sorry for the delay, had to get a 20 m cable
If I hook up the pc to the same GB switch I get 20 mb/s
I reestablished the old connection and tried for a longer file transfer to the media server, it consistently gives 11 mb, A funny byproduct: I did 2 transfers in parallel by coincidence, one from the NAS to my PC the other from my PC to the media server, the transfer speed from the NAS increased from a steady 200-400kbit / s (5 mins) to 2,5 mb/s until done
LoL this is ridiculous

Perhaps the GB switch and/or the router don't support ethernet flow control.
From a practical perspective - why not get a bigger switch (or connect a smaller GB switch to the existing one). The PC performance will improve with all the GB devices.
