ReadNAS Duo V1 - Won't Keep Static IP
Hello, For all the years I've used my ReadyNAS DUO (V1) I've had it configured to pull it's IP address via DHCP. I now have reason to assign it a static IP but for some reason, whenever I change the setting to "Use values below" and set the IP, it always reverts to DHCP and pulls the IP from my router. After hitting apply I get the warning about changing the IP, etc and it thinks about it for a while before refreshing and reverting to DHCP. I'm running RAIDiator 4.1.14. I searched the forum and found a few references to issues with V2 but nothing specific to my scenario. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!
Update! Problem appears to be solved. I directly edited the interfaces file to force the IP config to be static:
# iface eth0 inet dhcp
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.0.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.0.1.1Since resolv.conf was already configured correctly (10.0.1.1) I left it alone.
Rebooted and my changes were retained. Now when I go to the interfaces tab in FrontView it correctly displays "Use values below" with my chosen configuration.
At this point I'm good to go. Thanks for everyone's input.

Hello SGINAZ,
Welcome to the community!
When you set a static IP address for your NAS, you need to enter an IP addres and a subnet mask too.
You may try removing the NAS from your network first then connect it straight to the computer. The RAIDar will detect the NAS, showing its current IP address which is its default IP address 192.168.168.168. To access the NAS FrontView, put a static IP address to the computer's TCP/IP (v4) settings 192.168.168.5. Then try again doing the static IP address you are assigning to the NAS. Do not forget to put Default Gateway which is under Network > Global Settings. Default Gateway should be on the same IP subnet of the static IP address of the NAS, should be the router's IP address (the router where you are going to connect the NAS) since it is the default gateway of the network.
Once all done, remove the static IP address you have set on the computer, do not forget to set it to Obtain DNS server address automatically too.
In case you get the same problem, may I ask what is the exact error message that you are getting and what are the values you are entering? I also would like to ask for the firmware version of your ReadyNAS?

Hello,
Thanks for you follow-up. I am aware that I need to set both the mask and the IP. Unfortunately, after making the appropriate entries and hitting "apply" I see the spinner gear for a period of time and the setting reverts to "Use values from a DHCP server." Other times, when I attempt the change I will receive an error that the update of network settings was unsuccessfull.
I've also had the same problem when connecting the Duo directly using the 192.168.168.168 address. When I attempt to assign it a static IP it reverts back to DHCP.
Here is my firmware info: RAIDiator 4.1.14 [1.00a043]
I appreciate your assistance.

Which web browser and version are you using?
Have you tried clearing your web browser cache, closing your web browser, then reopening Frontview to see if the setting change has stuck?
