Ready DR Job Failure

I have a ReadyNAS 526X that has Several ReadyDR jobs that are sent to a ReadyNAS 314.  Both units are running OS 6.6  The ReadyDR has been working perfectly for weeks and starting 2 days ago I started getting the following errors:

ReadyDR job failure: Communication error on send (VideoDR).  The (VideoDR) is the target directory on the 314.  There is an identical message for each of four shares that are on the 526X and set to go to the RN314.  There is a fifth share and that one has the following messagw:

ReadyDR job failure: Unknown error 255.

I had a similar problem one before but that was due to the fact that I changed routers and lost the IP addresses for the two ReadyNAS units.  This time I have checked and the IP addresses are still correct for each unit.

Any thoughts on what happened and how to correct it?

Thanks for your quick response.  After doing some additional trouble shooting, I didcovered that as the result of an apparent router firmware update, the IP address on the RN314 (which received the ReadyDR jobs), did in fact, change two days ago.  Since the ReadyDR destination is IP specific, that caused the jobs to fail.

Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a way to modify the destnation address so I had to delete the existing jobs and recreate all of them, using the new IP address.  That appears to have corrected the issue as the jobs all ran correctly.

    Regards,

    Hi dschwartzer,

Do you have other ReadyDR jobs that are working?

Can you try to create a test ReadyDR job? I am going to check further on the error that you are getting.

    Regards,

You should probably reserve the ReadyNAS IP addresses in your router to prevent them from changing again.
