Ready Nas 102 - Drive keeps showing no data
Hi,
I have a 102 with 2x 3TB drives as standalone drives, no raid.
One of the drives keeps showing no data last two days and see messages like this :
| May 21, 2020 11:17:19 AM | Volume: It is not recommended to mix different disk types. Current volume is using Unknown drives. Please replace the disk in channel 1 (Internal) to match the rest of the disks on volume data-0 for best performance. | |
| May 21, 2020 11:16:33 AM | Disk: Disk Model:WDC WD30EFRX-68EUZN0 Serial:WD-WCC4N1SSD6KC was removed from Channel 1 of the head unit. | |
| May 21, 2020 11:16:15 AM | Disk: Disk Model:WDC WD30EFRX-68EUZN0 Serial:WD-WCC4N1SSD6KC was added to Channel 1 of the head unit. | |
| May 21, 2020 11:15:51 AM | Volume: Volume data health changed from Unprotected to Inactive. |
Is this an indication that the drive is failing as I see no failed drive messages. It just seems to keep getting removed.
I can buy a new drive but before I do just want to check that its the drive that needs sorting and not the NAS box itself.
Cheers for help in advance

Do you have two volumes, or just one concatenated volume?
If looks like
- the drive might not have been securely in the slot
- the drive might be starting to fail
- the bay in the chassis might be starting to fail.
It would be good to test the drive with lifeguard in a Windows PC.

Two drives, two volumes. The 2nd drive is fine.
Drive hasnt been moved in years, but I have reseated it just in case.
Lifeguard sounds like the way to go to determine if its drive or NAS that needs changing.
