Make sure IPv6 is disabled in the NAS network settings.
Also, if the MTU isn't set to 1500, then I suggest setting it to that on both the NAS and the PC.
One other thing you could try is
- download the log zip file
- run NAStester, perhaps a bit longer (10-15 loop count)
- download the log zip file again.
Then look at network_settings.log in the log zip file, and look for increases in the error statistics (errors, dropped, overruns, frame, carrier).

Have tried a number of things with little success.
Switched off IP6
Looked at logs
Swapped NICs on the NAS
I even attached the NAS directly to the PC via ethernet cable
Did manage to get slight speed incerase but still nowhere near what you are getting.

Are you using the standard 1500 byte MTUs (my systems are).
Do you have spare disk(s) you can test with? If you do, you can do a fresh factory install with only the spare disks in place. Then see if that gives you a different result.
Be careful to label the current disks by slot when you remove them, and change the disks with the NAS powered down.

Yes forgot to mention....I checked the MTU's all match up.
If I can find a NAS testing too for Mac I might try seeing if my MAC has any better luck.
I am pretty sure I have a spare disk around here somewhere......that could be the next thing
Thanks for all your efforts

Little Update.
I used Helios Lan Test on my Mac and ran 300MB file x 20 to see what sort of speed I could get.
The speeds were not far off what am getting from my PC so no noticable difference.
So to recap...
Using netrwork switch or going direct makes no difference to speed therefor I am ruling out the switch.
Using Laptop or Mac does not make any difference so I am ruling out the machines
The cables are all brand new and I have tried those and the old cables again no difference.
Still have not tried the new HD but if that makes a difference not really sure how to handle that as I would need to completely rebuild the whole array.
