Ready NAS Backup Exec

Model is ReadyNAS 4312 (not an option in the drop-down), firmware 6.9.3

We're using Veritas Backup Exec 16 with the ReadyNAS but have been told by Veritas Support that BE cannot install an agent on the NAS so any incremental or differential jobs we schedule will run as full jobs. Veritas Support are fairly useless and have offered no workaround or solution which is very aggrivating!

I've read that adding the NAS to BE as a Linux machine might work but when I do this, it appears in BE as a Windows machine and still runs any job as a full one.

Is there a way of getting inc/diff jobs to work on the NAS?

  • After testing with Acronis Backup, I've found that it seems to be a Backup Exec problem as Acronis will run full, incremental and differential jobs out of the box with no agent installed on the NAS.

    Good work Veritas.....
