I'm glad you got the data off the disks. Try powering up the NAS without the disks, and see if RAIDar can find it.
It should discover it, and report a "no disks" status.
If that fails, there is likely something wrong with the chassis (though there's a chance it's the power brick).
If it succeeds, then a factory default is the right next step.

Try powering down the NAS and removing the disks (labeling by slot). Then power it up, and see if RAIDar finds it. It should discover it, and give you a "no disks" status.

Thank you for your fast reply, I will try it. If this works is it then possible to insert the disks again without any data loss?

Do you know what firmware your NAS is running (it's either 4.1.x or 5.3.x)?
Also are you using the default XRAID (RAID-1)?

If it works, the problem is with the disks, and not the NAS chassis. If it fails, then you need a new NAS.
If it is the disks, then it could be that
- one (or both) disks were damaged when the power failed.
- there was some file system corruption because pending writes in the NAS cache were lost.
I think the best approach for data extraction (assuming XRAID/RAID-1) is to connect drive 1 to a Windows PC (either with SATA or a USB dock), and see if R-linux for Windows sees the data volume. If it does, then offload it to a USB or internal drive on the PC. http://www.r-tt.com/free_linux_recovery/

Thank you for your help.
I removed both disks and tried the startup and it fails. It is the same behaviour: constant blinking led and RAIDar does not find the NAS. So this is now the point where I need a new NAS?
Regarding the firmware version: I am not completely sure but I think it is the older version.

Yes, RAIDar not finding it suggests the chassis has failed. The only other possibility would be something wrong with the power brick.
Note there would be a flashing led pattern though I don't think you are seeing the "no disks detected" pattern.
LED blink behavior for 2 disk systems is three quick blinks of all disk LEDs and the backup LED, followed by an 1s delay, followed by a number of slow blinks. The number of slow blinks will be the error code.
Current error codes:
1 - Vendor mismatch
2 - No disks detected
3 - Bad contents on root partition of disks
4 - Flash error
5 - Unsupported RAID configuration

4.1.x is a v1. The labeling is confusing.
The v2 (arm CPU) says v2 on the front panel, runs 5.3.x firmware and has a -200XXX at the end of the part number. The XXX might be NAS, or it might be a country-specific code.
A v1 runs 4.1.x firmware, and has a -100XXX at the end of the part number. It often has a label on the back that says v2.
Anyway, the current ReadyNAS equivalent is the RN212. It is much faster than your duo, and has more features. You can't directly migrate the disks though, you'll need to extract the data as I described above.
