I'm glad you got the data off the disks. Try powering up the NAS without the disks, and see if RAIDar can find it.
It should discover it, and report a "no disks" status.
If that fails, there is likely something wrong with the chassis (though there's a chance it's the power brick).
If it succeeds, then a factory default is the right next step.

Sorry for the late reply I was busy with the restore.
I had a closer look to the part number and it is RND2000-200EUS.So the firmware version should be 5.3.x but I can't check.
I tried to find out together with my daugther the error code but there is immediately the blinking backup led. We couldn't see any blinking error code. Do you think a restart with the factory defaults may work?
Over the weekend I have extracted all data and I am happy about that.

RAIDar failed with no disks, so there is something wrong with the chassis.
Due to the NAS is 6 years old I will invest in a new one.
