Ready nas duo v2 Wrong root

Hi I have a ReadyNas duo V2 with one drive installed. Got a lot of information on it.  Suddenly i can´t reach my data. My nas is from 2013.  When I run Raidar I see the disk but I got wrong roo...

Are you seeing "corrupt root"?  That means something went wrong with the OS partition on the disk, so the NAS can't boot.

 

You likely will need data recovery (since it sounds like you don't have a backup).  You can try using the free R-Linux for Windows software ( https://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/ ) - connecting the hard drive directly to a PC either with SATA or a USB adapter/dock.

 

While it's connected you should also try testing the drive with the vendor diagnostics (Lifeguard for Western Digital, SeaTools for Seagate).

    Hi

    I only see the swedish text "Felaktig rot" and I translate it to wrong root or inaccerate root. 

    Is the problems with the disk or the Nas?

    I have try ti connect the disk directly with a SATA-USB adapter but i can´t se anything. Can it be because the disk is password protected?

    I havn´t try withthe vendor tools yet

      The disk uses linux formatting (ext), and Windows doesn't support that.  You need to use third-party tools (like the R-linux for Windows package I pointed to earlier).  Of course if the disk has failed, those tools won't see anything.

       

      So download and run the vendor diagnostic next.

      Ok.  the English text is "corrupt root".  

       

      The problem is more likely to be with the disk than the NAS.  Hopefully the data partition isn't corrupted too.
