wrong disk size at ready nas duo
Hi,
I have a old Ready Nas Duo with RAIDiator 4.1.14.
I had 2x500 GB as X-Raid. I changed to new 2 x WD30EZRX (3 TB). After Update both are redundant and everything is well. But free space was expanded to only 741 GB instead of 3 TB.
I knew that I didn't checked any hard disk lists before I bought the new 3 TB disk drives and I also didn't ask here (my mistake).
Any chance for me to use the compelete 3 TB space in my old Ready Nas Duo (I use it only as a backup once a month)?
Best regards and thank you for help.

No. The max disk size is 2 TB, and there is no workaround.

Hi Stephen,
thank you for your fast answer. Any chance to change from 741 GB to 2 TB with this disk? Why choose the ready nas 741 instead of 2 TB?
best regards Zacki

No. The Duo v1 does not support GPT.
3TB disks being seen as having 741GB capacity is a known problem that results from using them in a system in which GPT is not supported.
The Duo v1 was the last of the Sparc models to be released and was released back in 2008. It's the 2-bay version of a product released back in February 2006. The hardware is about 10 years old now.
All our newer models have GPT support.
