I used to have a Netgear Stora. Before this died it streamed perfectly to my XBOX360. I got My DUO V1 and before playing with it, updated to 4.1.8
Like many posts on here the NAS appeared for a few seconds on the 360 and then disappeared, my laptop has always seen it without problems.
Read all the posts, downgraded the software, turned off DNLA, turned off UPNP, turned them back on and all possible combinations. Not forgetting
of course to manually set an IP address on everything I could and checking there were no conflicts.
The connections were still the same as with my old Stora, ie Laptop to router via Wireless, XBOX cable to back of router, ReadyNAS cable to back of router.
Then came Christmas - time to get the decorations out of the loft ... I noticed I had an old Netgear Ethernet Hub (switch) in a long forgotten box.
So this is how I fixed it.
Updated Software to 4.1.8, turned on DNLA and UPNP.
I plugged the XBOX into the Hub
I plugged the ReadyNAS into the Hub
I plugged the Hub into the router
I am now able to stream pictures, films and audio via the XBOX again (including numerous on/off/reset tests)
No idea why it worked, but it does
Hope that helps someone
