Why should i try wired if i had no problems with wifi with the other NAS?
It's a recommendation in attempting to discover the root cause, where a wifi dropout could be a factor & not the ReadyNAS.
As previously stating from my own experience - droputs whilst on wireless exhibited the same behaviour on my musicpal (even with the musicpal right next to my wifi router), but do not occur when wired.
I'd still be curious to see if you have dropouts when listening to internet raido stations on the musicpal, as that would indicate wifi & the musicpal.
Streaming Video's with smb protocol to my Xtreamer is no problem at all.
You need to get to the root cause before you can draw the conclusion its the Readynas at fault.
Edit: just a thought without opening a massive technical "can of worms" - SMB may simply have a more robust error correction mechanism if adverse network conditions exist?
ps - For what it's worth, I do not enable UPnP checkbox on my ReadyNAS's, but just stick to the DLNA section.
Best of luck in the meantime.
